THE ULTIMATE 29er HARDTAIL - ON-ONE TI 29er

Big Wheel brilliance!!! The 29er riders are keeping this rolling XC mile muncher a secret... The Bigger wheeled brother to the Ti 456, the Ti 29er has the same Lynskey build quality. On-One refined the Ti 29er frame, raced it and then refined it some more. The 29er has some subtle features, including a curved seatpost and slot drop outs. The Slot dropouts were race proven throughout 2008 Mountain Mayhem and Hit the North. The curved seat tube allows for perfect front mech placement and great mud clearance.

Don't take our word for it. Read the Reviews!

The Slot Dropout model uses our proven design, as used for the last two years on our steel frames. We tested this dropout design on our titanium sample under rider Rod Mason throughout 2008 (Mountain Mayhem and Hit The North) and it performed flawlessly. Tweaked slightly from our standard version to allow even better compatibility with more brakesets (Maguras used to hit, they don't any more), this is the frame to choose if you want to either run gears OR singlespeed.

Design features and thoughts...
OK - they're in and landed, and here's some more background on the specifics...

Curved seat tube is there not just too look cool - though, hey it does eh? It's to do with front mech placement on the geared bike. We tried it on Twinklydave's race Cabal frame last year, and it worked well. Essentially without it, front mech position on 29ers isn't the same as on a 26in bike (due to the extra BB drop). It also does great things for the clearance problems you will get with very wide tyres - not really an on-one issue - but a "standard drive train problem" we all have to work around.
Flattened Oval section top tube - we wanted vertical compliance in this frame, as a lot of riders I know will be running it with rigid carbon forks. By flattening the top tube, and combining that with a curved seat tube, we think it's the comfiest ti frame out there. Of any of them. And we've not met anyone who disagrees yet.
You might need a +5mm headset - this frame is designed such that with early high-stack Reba Poplocks you might well have to run a +5mm headset to get downtube clearance. We've not tested all forks and all sizes, but I might expect if you run a 16in frame with a first-year Reba Poplock knob setup, and a low stack headset, you might have trouble. Rather than adding huge amounts of gusseting and tube bending, we chose to just say "fit a +5mm headset". You might not like this, might think it's a bodge or whatever, and you're free to step away - but really, it's a much neater solution in my mind than adding lots of metal plates, heat and manipulation in such a highly stressed area. I think we've compromised right. I hope you agree. If you don't you've probably stopped reading.
80-100mm fork length only - or rigids! This frame is designed, like our other 29ers, for 80-100mm suspension (max) or our rigid fork. It's not good for 120's - though you'll be pleased to know we're working on a hardcore 29er longtravel frame for 2009. 470mm rigids work great. And as for suspension - the more rake the better - even the 51mm stuff will be GREAT.
Do I get a this, that or the other? - Prices above are for frame only. No headset, no shipping, no seatclamp... Just a frame. We recommend running one of our chaintugs unless you're running gears SLAMMED forwards (which you might be doing I guess).>>!!
